SUNSET OVER LOCH STRIVEN

Actually, it's over Cumbrae, but the ferry is the Loch Striven.

Fun day out biking round Cumbrae with the Golden Haired Biking Girl. We got to Largs an hour later than intended as I left my back pack and helmet on the Ayr train when we changed at Kilwinning. All hail the railway staff - they phoned ahead to Ayr and sent the items back to Kilwinning with the same ticket collector we had on the way down. As he passed them to me on the platform he said, 'I knew you two would be trouble as soon as you got on my train!'

I had a soft tyre, so I called in at the bike hire place in Millport, where the lovely man gave up his afternoon snooze in the sun and not only pumped it up for me but told me why my pump wasn't working properly.

I met a wheel chair user in the cafe and admired her hair. She was simply delighted.telling her daughter she'd paid me well for the compliment. It has been a day of charming people - and I'm only one of them.
