Wind Vane

This wonderful wind vane is on one of the cottages at Farlands Hayfield on the track up to the Kinder Reservoir.

A disappointingly grey afternoon though of course the sky is brighter now as the sun goes down.

Spotted a few winter visitors today by Kinder Reservoir a good number of Fieldfare at least 30 and a larger number of Redwing. A couple of blackbirds just ignored them and shared the berries in a Rowan tree while half a dozen Mistle Thrushes remained at a distance looking less than happy about the Viking invaders.

Also including a single Brambling this morning and a resting Whooper swan - not always a good thing that it may be ill or injured but appeared OK as it sailed around Hurst Reservoir Glossop.
