Hog roast and rain
Headed up to South Yorkshire to marshall at an event by brother's running club organised. He was running along with the fella and 2 of our friends. So in the pouring rain me and our friends' 2 year old stood on a corner pointing and shouting which way the runners had to go. Which was fine for 20mins but didn't realise I had to wait until everyone came back past us. Had to unleash the limited tools in my babysitting armour - singing, looking at horses, bribing with food, playing with food, jumping in puddles and clapping the runners. The little man did very well but I was very grateful when his dad reappeared to collect him having finished the run as he was just starting to get too cold and wet and nothing was working. I then had to wait for another 30mins or so for the last ridiculously slow walker runner to go past before I could head to the finish and my very well earned hog roast.
Back home had to have a little snooze before helping the fella with the floor. It's been a mammoth job. Our friend kindly came round to help as a thank you for my babysitting. We didn't finish until late so got a takeaway (Thai this time) as cooking was just too much hassle.
