Dubai by Night
Wow. What a day!! Here is a run down by SweetArt... she's been very accurate but for any of you who don't click on the link. . . We started with a 9:45 showing of Planes. This time I stayed awake and saw the scenes of Dubai which lasted all of 2 seconds. Then had a little browse in the shops (we were in a Mall after all) before driving to the old part of town to lunch at Dubai's best revolving restaurant.
G has a rather big birthday this year and as SweetArt is here now, we had a special lunch. We then called in on Pauline whom I haven't seen since the day after her knee op. She was looking MUCH better and could even be home by Wednesday! Lastly, we headed for the Gold Souk as Sandy was looking for some specific things. We ended up being there over 4 hours - the longest I have ever been!!! During that time, I popped into a shop that sells perfume at wholesale prices and G & I are now well stocked up for AT LEAST a year!!!
After all that shopping till we literally dropped AND closed some of the shops, it was great to finally get home. My blip is of our beloved Creek which I still think is the best part of Dubai. You can see why Dubai is sometimes called "Venice of the East". There's a couple of dinner cruise boats. It is big Eid tomorrow so the roads were much clearer and a pleasure to be on. SO GLAD for these days off on SweetArt's last three days. LOTS to pack in still. . . I haven't heard the news all day so hoping that trusting that everyone is ok.
