The Passion & the Clock

The Passion flower gets it's name from the passion of Christ - 15th century Christian missionaries related each part of the flower to symbols of the last days of Christ eg the purple radial filaments represent the crown of thorns.

In Israel and Japan it's known as the clock plant or clock flower - a slightly more literal name and very appropriate as a summary of my day today - time has just flown by and still so much to do!
