Hungry chickadee for Sollergirl
The blackcapped chickadee is a very familiar bird in these parts. He is small and has handsome markings. This one frequently visits our feeders, along with the woodpeckers, house finches, goldfinches, and others. I also liked this goldfinch and his Mrs. today, but Sollergirl asked for a blackcapped chickdee, so this one is for her.
We had downpours yesterday and last night, but it cleared up today. It is cool though, only in the low 70s with a high of 65 predicted for tomorrow. Except for that one week of hot humid weather when our family from Arizona was visiting, we have had a very cool summer. I think we've had more sun than usual too. I love it! The best news of the week, actually of the summer, is that our grandson has returned to the states from his deployment. We are looking forward to seeing him.
