Great Grey Shrike
Today was a great day for bird spotters when a Great Grey Shrike was spotted for the first time in 20 years at a reservoir in Surrey. A rare bird to be seen.
The great grey shrike is the largest of the European shrikes. Small numbers come to the UK in autumn and spend the winter here. They are very territorial so you're unlikely to see more than one at once.
