There's a pond there...somewhere!

I don't think I'll be out doing some gardening this afternoon as it is absolutely chucking it down. Instead, I'll be writing up my recent wildlife surveys and (finally!) putting up some shelves. Then, I'll be getting ready to go and deliver a talk to Chesham & District Natural History, a wonderful group of wildlife enthusiasts who have been recording, protecting and documenting the natural history of their patch of the Chilterns since 1964 - see http://www.bucksvoice.net/cdnhs/.

When I did look out earlier, I realised that my new pond has almost disappeared due to finally being completely full of rainwater, covered in duckweed and overwhelmed by plants that now think they are in a rainforest. It does need a bit of clearance, but I'm quite pleased to see it looking quite natural after 6 months.
