Not seeing the light

Ignoring the rather macabre nature of the subject matter, the colours and visceral nature of the image really appeals to me. Two of our geese had sat for 3 weeks on 8 eggs each, but nearing ‘completion date’ they decided to spend the day together on a different nest so the eggs went cold and died. 15 of the 16 eggs were fully developed, with wee goosies with wee goosie feet and wee goosie beaks. Extremely upsetting. Added to which the dispatched and plucked plump offspring would have fetched 50 or 60 quid as table-birds this Christmas….
