Finally, Breaking Bread At The Feeder

A few days back blips  begin here.

Zippy, my male Broad-billed  Costa's hummingbird which has been fighting off all comers, has has finally broken bread with other birds today.

Here he is (back to the camera) watching a Black-chinned hummingbird coming in for a landing for a second round of sucking up the nectar.  

Maybe he got scared straight by the cactus wren that was giving him a taste of his  own medicine by sitting on the feeder dominating it.  That may have made him realize that he needed help from an enforcer - a hummer close to twice it's own size.

A match made in heaven!
