I'm Real - Honest!

This chap (or chap-ess) was trundling its way up the flyscreen this morning. It's one of the 35 Aussie species of Christmas Beetle Anoplognathus prasinus, nocturnal and feeds mostly on eucalyptus leaves. They are around 4cm long. I think they look like a plastic toy!

I got the train to Brisbane again today - giving Simon another speed-lesson in using computers. It's hot here, dry and windy; bush-fire weather. There have already been a few and some homes and properties lost. Rain please!
