Destruction in Christchurch

We sent the day walking around this damaged city. The never of empty specs, damaged buildings and some looking ok but due for demolition as they were too weakened by the 1 earthquake is amazing and sad. The cathedral is symbolical of the dilemma people are facing - does one pull it down and build new, modern and earthquake prof. Or does one salvage the past in patching up the building. There is a court case pending between the tenants of both views.
