Straight From The Horses Mouth
We took a drive down to Blooms of Bressingham, near Diss. It was an overcast day, and it did shower a couple of times, but we never got wet. The gardens were nice (perhaps a bit repetitive/boring), but nice. If you visit, go earlier in the season (most of the flowers are past their best just now), and also take waterproof shoes if it is wet underfoot (they mostly have grass paths).
They had a very nice steam railway. We took a 20 min ride around the gardens. Cute.
There was also a nice restaurant. We enjoyed a tasty Sunday Roast.
Later, we also picked up a few end of season bargains in the garden centre .... shrubs for my wife, and pond plants for me ... £1 each for the pond plants .... brilliant!
This is a shot of my wife. We could hear the carrousel playing in the distance. She wanted to go on it, but she didn't have the nerve. She thought she was "too old" for that. I spotted two OAPs getting off as we approached, but still my wife wouldn't get on. Then the two assistants said she could climb up on the horse and I could take a photo of her .... deal! So here she is :-)
Later we drove down to Bury St Edmunds and watched "The Fifth Estate" at Cineworld. Not a bad film. Educational.
A safe drive home and now it's time for bed.
The car did not give us any problems. Good car!
