A busy morning. We attended the church where we are getting married and after the service met with the organist and then the photographer who had come to have a look round the church in preparation for the day.

It was a lovely mild and bright afternoon and we visited Belsay Hall, Castle and gardens, a local English Heritage site which we've been meaning to visit for years. We could have spent the whole day there as there was so much to see and such a tranquil place.

This shot is in the stairway of the 14th century 'pele tower' of the castle, built at a time of Anglo-Scottish warfare!
