The Liberty Archive

I was lucky enough today to accompany our head of design Emma and archivist Anna to the Liberty archive in pursuit of design inspiration for the next collection. Liberty has over 40,000 designs in its ever growing archive, ranging from little print motifs from the 30's to the most incredible pre 1900 paisleys such as this one. Such detail and skill goes into these designs which were produced way before any modern aids. It was a pleasure to witness a tiny section of what is kept under lock and key.
