Bradford City Park

A magical sound and light installation in the middle of Bradford City Centre, inspired by a work by Sylvia Plath.

I am visiting my home town to catch up with old friends and to show solidarity with the people of Bradford when the EDL come a-visiting tomorrow.

Spent the latter part of the afternoon in Centenary Square where there was an atmosphere of unity, comradeship and general all-round wellbeing. Bradford Women for Peace were handing out green ribbons for people to wear, messages were being written on postcards stapled to a 'Wall of Hope' and within an hour I had bumped into lots of my old friends.

I met up with the friend I am staying with and after a couple of beers and a before a curry we stood for a short while to watch this installation. One of the best things was the way children - and some adults - took great delight in paddling around the floating, projected images which included giant carp, clock faces and others.
