My new hobby?

Spent the morning with Broxbourne Rowing Club, and signed my self up for their 'learn-to-row' course.

Seem like a nice bunch of people, and a very smart club house which apparently has just been renovated - we had to take a shoes off!

So today I learnt 3 things:

1) 8s rowing boats are ENORMOUS!

2) Singles sculls are TINY - seriously, I don't think my 34" waist doesn't stand a chance of getting in.....

3) I've been rowing on the rowing machines incorrectly my entire life. If I was to row in a boat the way I row on a machine, I'd literally go backwards!

SO with faced with a VERY steep learning curve, I'll be there on the river Lea next saturday at 9:30am rain or shine!
