George 111.

Have to go backwards today, disgusting outside. On the seafront at Weymouth stands King George 111. The statue is made from Eleanor Coade`s artificial stone . Old George loved Weymouth, and the locals loved him. He would stay in his brothers house (now a hotel) on the seafront. He may have come in for a bit of stick on account of `losing`America, but in general he was a decent bloke. Married Princess Charlotte two hours after meeting her--Instant Love ? They had 15 children.

He did of course suffer an illness later in life(believed to be porphyria), what really put the fear of god into his physicians was that his wee was purple. They could not get their heads round that.
Very keen on agriculture, liked eating mullet and enjoyed having a band play whilst he was swimming in Weymouth Bay. A real ,and perhaps first, holiday seaside King.
