A splash of colour on a grey day
An adult and juvenile Crimson Rosella feeding on Cape Daisy flower heads, amongst the Patterson's Curse. Both introduced and very invasive weeds.
Patterson's Curse has a very pretty purpley blue flower and is also called Salvation Jane – it's a curse or a salvation, depending on whether you're in a feast or famine. Too much and it will kill your horses, but when the crops have failed, it can sustain your cattle. I like to pick it and put it in a vase.
A typical example of Melbourne's fickle weather today – complete opposite of yesterday and I've had to turn the heating back on.
