It's like this...

I got an unexpected photographic commission today. One of my colleagues retired the day before we moved office and because of the chaos of the move she didn't get a leaving do at the time. So, having a spanking new auditorium in the new building, pretty well its first job was hosting the delayed retirement partly.

About twenty minutes in, my boss sidled up to me and said, "Do you have your camera in the car? The photographer's gone to the old place." Fortunately it was in the car so five minutes later I was snapping away as official photographer, with one big advantage over an outsider in that I could judge when someone was looking particularly in character. Take this chap for example. He's an exceptionally patient man and a good communicator and I can just imagine him explaining some new idea to the others at his table.
