I think I'm going to need a bigger torch!
Not to mention a better background!
This week's course homework is to photograph a still life at home, using a light source other than the camera's built-in flash. I've done a couple using natural light so I decided to go for the torch shot. Unfortunately, our only decent torch is buried in a box somewhere (I'll try to find it tomorrow) so I was stuck with a diddly little wind up torch - not the strongest light in the world. The other main problem is that the auto-focus wouldn't work in such dim light, and I'm rubbish at manual focusing. Ah well, at least I remembered to turn the image stabilisation off.
I'll try again tomorrow...
