Weekender

Went to a couple of things at the Manchester Weekender, a festival of quirky arty things around the city and into Salford. On my way to a session at Manchester Metropolitan University's Special Collections, I saw these smiley printmakers at Hot Bed Press' pop-up Radical Print Shop on Oxford Road, and picked up a couple of free prints - thanks guys!

Another highlight was the Jeremy Deller exhibition at the City Art Gallery, "a personal look at the impact of the Industrial Revolution on British popular culture", which includes an eclectic mix of Victorian paintings and prints, family trees of Noddy Holder and Bryan Ferry and old photos and films of mining and factory workers - Mancs, get down there, it's fascinating.
