CERES
Other than Miles still being ill (he has a definite bad tummy... complete with regular need for complete wardrobe changes!), today was another amazing Saturday... Do the bad weeks really make the weekends better?!
Despite not being well, Miles just powered on today and was the happiest little guy around - laughing out loud, playing and being interested in everything. He really is an absolute joy to be around at the moment.
After brunch at 15 pounds, we set off for CERES, an amazing environment park and social change facility in Brunswick. It's located at the old landfill site, and now houses education centres, a market, cafe, nursery (the plant type, not the child type), and various other fantastic endeavors that encourage collaboration and sustainability. It's quite amazing I've never been here before, seeing as it's only 10 minutes from our house.
The weather was amazing, and it was great to just wander round, bumping into friends and having a coffee with Patch and Laura. Whilst we were out we decided it was a good day to fire up the barbie for our first of the season. Home-made beef and cheese or kangaroo burgers (sorry Kangaroo!), snags and some salad from Patch's garden finished it off, and we had a good sit and chat with friends whilst polishing off enough home brew that it's now getting urgent for me to get the next batch on!
Fantastic day.
Today's shot: Gina. She was wearing her new wide-brimmed hat around CERES. As per usual, she looks a million dollars! Amazing considering all that she does for our family all week, looking after our 8 month old, all on top of work and full-time study. She's a real inspiration.
