The route to Anse Mondon
Silhouette is surrounded by a healthy ring of coral - but it's actually a granite island, rising steeply from the golden beaches to rocky, rainforested slopes.
Thus this path, a mere 3km from the resort beach to the bay round the corner, was actually quite a challenge (so much so that a French lady in our party became exhausted - fortunately for her, Katti can nurse and I speak the lingo, albeit a little bluntly).
Once there, the clear turquoise sea of Anse Mondon allowed us some of the best snorkelling of the week - it was well worth the journey.
