It's been a funny old day out on the Peninsula today. At breakfast (at the Blue Duck Cafe) the clouds swirled around the hills but the sun was breaking through. By lunchtime, wall to wall blue greeted us, to be swiftly followed by rain of the cats and dogs variety. It then cleared, and then it rained again. Twice.

Nice weather for ducks? Gawd knows.

Forecast is for improving weather tomorrow, so I might go on a heron hunt. Typically, as we journeyed our way towards Motukarara for said breakfast, I saw four kotuku having their own morning meal in the water right by the rail trail at sunset point. And guess who didn't have their camera with them? Yup. Typical.
