The fungus

It's been a cold blustery day. I've not had an opportunity to find a blip so it was a search around the garden in the fading light. I settled upon this fungus clinging to one of our oak trees. I was also clinging on desperately as this was quite high and I had to take the picture with the camera at arms length above my head.
