Today
I have mostly been fettling my Kingpin...ahem.
(Stop reading now if you have an aversion to boring techy stuff)
This bike didn't exactly cover itself in glory during its maiden voyage...shedding the LH crank approximately 100 yards into my ride to work.
It could have been much worse, it could've happened half way there; 5 miles in.
This experience forced me to renew my acquaintance with the cotter pin crank, a piece of technology I thought I'd left behind 30 years ago.
That item has now been binned in favour of a nice shiny square-taper bottom bracket and crankset.
Happy days.
