Wood carvers

Today we fly to Zanzibar and on the way to the airport our guide dropped us off at a place where they actually do the wood carvings. Funnily enough the people who are the best wood carvers are not from Tanzania but Mozambique. They arrived here after the civil war in 1975, famished refugees taken in by Tanzania. They carve from ebony and rose wood and are considered an important part of the tourist economy.
