Approaching from Princes Street this morning I thought for a moment that Shandwick Place had re-opened, as the straight-on bus/taxi/cycle/tram-only lane was unconed and had things in it heading west, though it turned out they were just going off into Queensferry Street. Hopefully the signal timing's aren't all locked down yet as single bus and taxi heading through were stopped thrice at each set of signals, almost filling the space available each time. As with the bit going west past the end of the Mound there'll be a fairly narrow channel available to anyone who doesn't fancy crossing the tracks, which ought to be anyone during wet conditions, especially when there is impatience to the rear.
