A bit gory really

Spent an enjoyable afternoon with the Forest Schoolers learning to use owl eyes and hawk eyes before setting off on a spider hunt. The unexpected always turns up when you start looking carefully and the photo above is a cropped version of what was found for the benefit of the squeamish amongst you. For the hunters though it was a delight as they considered the fur and how it got to be like this. New spreads quickly and the next group out couldn't wait to see it as well.
From what we have and looking at pictures online my best guess ia a rat though a squirrel is a close second.
