Sunflowers before the rain

All last night the wind howled around the house and I could feel the temperature dropping as the cold air air seeped under doors and down chimneys. This morning it must have been fifteen degrees cooler than it was two mornings ago when I went for my walk in a light shirt. No such luxury this morning. Back to layers, a scarf and gloves. Cathy brought me round some sunflowers late last night for my birthday and this morning, in a rare moment of sunshine, I came into the kitchen and found them glowing with Puss bathing beneath them as if she was under a sun ray lamp.
