Amaurobius spider

Backblip. Without a decent blipfoto entry for the day, I took the dog out into the garden, along with my phone camera and headtorch to see if there were any beasties around. Luckily, this Amaurobius spider was out and about on my garage, some distance from his web (maybe looking for a ladee spider?) and I was able to snap this shot. These guys make funnel webs out from holes in walls and under eaves. I do love them when they appear in Autumn (maybe a bit later this year than last?).
