You have no choice
Whatever you see or experience in India, you have to acknowledge the Taj Mahal. It is certainly the most beautiful and breathtaking building in the world.
But the Taj had serious competition today. It's been amazing and absolutely exhausting. 4 am wake up call to get to New Delhi station for 5.30. Busy and crazy. Caught the 6.00 train to Agra. Amazing announcements light silent film soundtracks! Craziness of every variety.
The Taj Mahal is intense big business. But for all the hype and commercialisation, you can tell how much the lost wife was loved and missed. Stunning.
We then went on to Agra Fort. Superb - but also very busy. And as if that wasn't enough excitement for the day, we went in Tuk Tuks to the Baby Taj.
It was an experience that was so intense. In don't know how we missed other vehicles, pedestrians and cows. Dust, filth, fumes, shouting, incessant horns and the nearest of near misses ! The Baby Taj was unbelievably beautiful. And as if that wasn't enough, Sanjesh our wonderful guide spotted a kingfisher.
More Tuk Tuk scariness to the gardens opposite the Taj Mahal, to take the sunset photo, with the moon, and the cremation pyres. Back at the hotel, 15 hours later, I dived in the shower to get rid of the total grubbiness. But I wouldn't have missed it for the world........
