The Judd House

We got a private visit of the artist Donald Judd's "house" in Soho tonight.. It's an 1870 5-story cast iron building that the artist bought in 1968 (for $60,000!). He had his studio and home there -- even after decamping to Marfa,TX. His foundation still owns the house and it is EXACTLY as it was when Judd died in 1994...it just opened after being meticulously restored over the past few years. Extreme minimalism. Made me glad to see my big old soft couch when I came home!
