The last warm day

Over the stile - down the steep field (nuts, berries, butterflies) - another stile - into the trees - over the stream - follow the winding path (fronds, ferns, horsetails) - water trickle below, green canopy above - moss, moisture and ooze (wet brown leaves that look like fungi, wet brown fungi that look like leaves) - suddenly the rush, the gleam of falling water - droplets in the air - glistening leaves - follow the stream (dippers) - cross the stepping stones - through a deserted boat yard and there's the bay: sand, shingle, surf, sunshine - no people, just gulls.
