Gullies and Ghylls
Saturday was a beautiful day - a Scafell Pike Day!
After a big breakfast we headed off for one of our favourite walks - up to Scafell Pike via the Corridor Route from Seathwaite. It's a dramatic walk, full of interest, long..., a bit of mild scrambling, deep dips and high rises, scars and rock.
The cloud moved in to top the peaks and we were soon walking in it; the top of the mountain was ridiculously busy. It always is but this was beyond normal. We can't complain, we were amongst the minions, but next time we may pick a weekday to climb it :o)
Back down via Grains Gill. The strangest thing is we saw hardly anyone on the walk up, and the same on the walk down, yet there were hundreds on top. Teleportation?
Back to the hotel for a very well deserved meal, a couple of pints and a double whisky, and a serious sleep...
A few more from the day here. :o)
