Nostell Priory
The beauty of being retired, is that when you get up on a beautiful morning, you can just decide to go out and enjoy the day!
Which is precisely what we have just done.
A lovely walk round the parkland of Nostell Priory near Wakefield.
Such a beautiful Autumn day.
Warm and sunny.
The trees were just beginning to take on the glorious autumn tints.
We were like two kids, picking up the conkers, and kicking up the leaves!
Also lots of beech nuts, and acorns on the ground.
In the hedge rows, rose hips, elder berries, and crab apples.
Unfortunately the house wasn't open, so we will have to go back to see that later.
Afterwards we drove to nearby Anglers Country Park, and had a walk round the lake, where there were a huge variety of ducks and geese.
The only down side to the day was the poor lunch we had at the National Trust Café. This is the third time we have tried one this year, and they have all been poor.
Fortunately the young girl let us try the soup before we ordered. Tasted like dish water!
So that's it! We won't go to any more!
