Yes, this is Benidicto and Robert overcome with excitement in their work and Lusangazi has passed all elements of the certification process for producing seedlings for the Malawi Government.
The assessors arrived from Blantyre this morning and gave us the unofficial approval and the certification will arrive later.
How big a prize is this for these guys and all on the farm? It is unbelievable.
Only one other company in a country of fourteen million, have met the standards required and they are in Blantyre, 800 km away.
The indications are that the Malawi department of Agriculture and Forestry will take all this year's crop of up to 10,000 seedlings, and want us to up our numbers to 20,000 next year.
We are all so delighted for the farm crew and thankful for their hard work in achieving what might have seemed the impossible.
This puts us front and centre of seedling production in Malawi, WOW!!
Robert reckons that its upwards and onwards, no resting, but warns that Rome wasn't built in a day!!
