The Utrecht
This is a replica of a yacht that was used by the members of the Dutch States General.
The Utrecht Statenjacht is a historical reconstruction, a replica of a Statenjacht originally built in 1746. The ship was built in five and a half years by shipbuilders and sculptors in the context of a training and employment project commissioned by the city of Utrecht. They made maximum use of the original materials and construction methods. For the construction about 300 m3 oak was used that came from forests in Denmark. About 200 years ago these forests have been planted with Dutch acorns.
The ship is in Muiden from April to November. She is used for all kinds of (sailing) events.
