Police Scotland Day 194

Officers in Aberdeen are taking part in a pilot scheme, trialling mobile fingerprint scanners.

The new, high-tech device allows officers on the beat to identify people in seconds, and will free up hours of police time. The innovative scanners are linked to a national fingerprint database and instantly alert police if the scanned prints belong to a convicted criminal.
