Yard King
Ok, so I'll admit...not every shot is going to be Ansel Adams quality. That said, this is our Yard King lawn mower. We bought it, oh, probably 20 years ago for 50 bucks. The thing is, it has been the WORK HORSE. It just mows and mows, starts on the first or second pull. I mean, it is a work horse. Now, the end is in sight. The mower deck has rusted and is cracking through; the right rear wheel sits at an angle. Its mowing days are numbered. Today, it died in mid-cut. I broke out the pliers, fixed the spark plug wire, and it fired right up again. But the end is in sight. The old Yard King.
It reminded me of the Neil Young song, "Old King." You can hear it right here. Just substitute the words "...the best ol' hound dog " for "...the best ol' lawn mower."
And if music doesn't get you, here's a haiku for you:
Ode to Yard King
Grass needs mowing now,
Yard King mower starts right up.
Lawn mower running strong.
Ok, tomorrow I'll try for something scenic.
