Down the hole

A long dry summer means the cows have been drinking a lot from the water troughs. These are all filled from this big tank, itself filled in turn by pumping water from a borehole. I've had to check levels daily - an adult cow with a calf still suckling can drink as much as 100 litres on a hot day, and there's upwards of 100 of them between my farm and the neighbour who shares this supply. I'm still not convinced there isn't a leak somewhere in the system though, so I've been keeping a photographic record of the daily levels. It's the only photo I've taken all day, so that's what you get.
