Today's the day .......................... for precious jewels

I've been sorting through my Mum's jewellery today - and it's been an absorbing experience.

Some of it is very familiar to me. I remember occasions when she wore it - and who gave it to her. Some of it I bought for her myself. But - quite a lot of it, is completely new to me. I found myself wondering how she had come by it - and whether there was a story behind that ring, that string of pearls in the special case or those sparkly earrings.

It's actually quite a personal thing to be looking through someone's jewellery box. In this case - more than ninety years' worth of treasures.................
