Keen to make the most of their city break, our house guests wanted to head to science Museum.

As it was a sunny day, actually the crowds stayed away and the kids could get really involved in the museum. As a Londoner, I am eternally grateful we have such amazing museums for free on our doorstep.

The kids loved the launchpad - and the curator giving the talk on explosions at 12pm was just brilliant - where do they find such interesting, funny, informative folk?! Give the girl a payrise!

For a treat, we went undersea in the IMAX - again we all learnt something. My son is now telling people Sharks keep the coral safe ...
