Silversmith's bench

I've worked at this bench since 1974 or thereabouts, not always in the same workshop, in fact I've moved probably seven or eight times since then, but always taken my bench with me.
We bought about 5 old pitch-pine pews in Camden Lock, each 13 feet long and I seem to remember £27 the lot.
I've spent more time sitting at this bench than I have anywhere else, and I know all the scars and stains I've made on it over the years.
Amazing to think that probably hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of silver has been sawn, filed and hammered into shape here.

There's no place like home, eh!
