The Lizard Peninsula

I am struggling at the moment to be able to comment as I do not have wifi in my flat and the cost of portable wifi on a student income is prohibitive.. I am going to try to comment at Uni on their wifi which we can connect to while we are there, but as I do not live on Campus I have to do this in the day or make a special trip back in the evening.. So apologies to all those who are taking the time to view.comment on my very sporadic journal (trouble also uploading with limited wifi access). I am hoping I will work out a balance in the next few weeks...

Today I drove down to the Lizard which is the most Southern Point in England. I went to Kynance Cove which is very beautiful with huge rocks and a sheltered cove... which apparently has rip tides so not a very safe place to swim.. I sat on the rocks and had a picnic before climbing the cliffs onto the South Coast path..

I was looking to hear and hopefully see the Cornish Chough, and I was not disappointed, although they are so speedy in flight and relatively shy on the ground so I didnt get a very good photo of them. I spent a hour sitting peacefully watching all manner of wildlife about their business including a fox moth Caperpillar and several Jackdaws.

I then drove into the Lizard village, I have not been here for over 35 years and so it was very strange. I stopped for a cider in the local pub before heading for Lizard Point and the Lighthouse which was doing its stuff due to the sea mist..

I patiently waited for the sunset which was great up until the last 5 minutes when the clouds obscured its final act....
