Medieval Perthshire
If you've never been to Innerpeffray Library, you really should find time to visit. It's about 4 miles out of Crieff and as well as the library itself, the oldest lending library in Scotland, you can visit the old school and this beautiful medieval chapel. Occasionally, there are concerts in the chapel. I once saw Sheena Wellington there. That was extraordinary. Today, it was a concert of medieval church music and 18th century Scots songs. I'm a bit of a fan of medieval music (no, no idea why so don't ask!) and of plainsong/Gregorian chants and such (very soothing and meditative) so having this right on my doorstep in such a wonderful setting was just perfect. The kilted fellow lounging at the door was just happenstance!
