Deja Vu

We've been here before.

The annual conference of the IAM groups, held at Warwick University - in Coventry. Three of us went along from Cambridge.

Unusually, I didn't come away feeling exasperated, which is a really positive sign. Historically there's been rather a disconnect between the 'corporate' aims of HQ and the day-to-day passions of the volunteer training force. This year there was the first light of some realisation that groups need help from the central organisation and less, albeit not none, of the attitude that groups are somehow there to support 'the organisation'.

As was serendipitously useful, I met up with M at the student house and we came back with more assorted clutter.
