Barceloneta
We're taking advantage of being in Barcelona for a few days and catching up on 'stuff'. We walked quite a lot today again: through the area of Sants, Hosta Franca, down to Plaza España, along Parallel and down to Barceloneta. We resisted two temptations on the way. The first was to jump on the fast speed train to Madrid at Sants. It was leaving in 20 mins when we stopped there to buy a paper. 'Dinner in Madrid', we thought. The second was to jump on the ferry in the port, which was preparing to set sail for one of the Spanish islands. 'Wake up somewhere different', we thought. Oh, I just remembered a third temptation - delicious little cream filled pastries called...... fartons! Both of us are usually more 'let's do it' than not people, but we have some admin tasks that need done this coming week in Barcelona so we had to resist today!
This blip is in Barceloneta and the bridge takes you to the Maremagnum Shopping Centre and a fine array of restaurants (including one of my mum-in-law’s favourites). The building on the right at the end of the bridge is the World Trade Centre and the tower is one of the stops for the cable car that runs from Montjuic to Barceloneta.
It's really nice to have time a bit of time to catch up with things, each other, our breaths and some friends before my next course and Bb's next group of new coachees.
