Vendange

A grape picking machine which is tall enough to straddle the rows of vines. They're used more on the flatter ground than here in the hills and in bigger vineyards nearer the sea. This one was outside the Cave Cooperative at Tourbes. The harvest of white grapes has begun, often at night to keep the grapes cool. The red grapes will be harvested next month.
